Carole Geller Award Presented to Idle No More
The Carole Geller Human Rights Award has been presented to Sheelah Mclean, Jessica Gordon, Nina Wilson and Sylvia McAdam, the founders of Idle No More, for their role in defending indigenous sovereignty and environmental protection of the land and its resources. The award is named for Carole Geller, one of Canada’s pioneers in advancing the cause of human rights. This award commemorates her intelligence and energy and her commitment to equality and justice. Feb. 25, 2013.
